AI summary
Miguel Ángel Broda, a prominent Argentine economist, criticized the government's exchange rate policy, arguing that a low dollar hinders progress toward a more open economy. He emphasized the necessity of a higher real exchange rate, suggesting levels between $1,700 and $1,800, to allow local companies to better adapt to external competition.
While advocating for economic openness, he stressed that it must be implemented under favorable conditions for local businesses.
